Hands on Stomach

My "Why?"

I'm often asked why I choose to delve into the area of pelvic health. And my answer is always "because it matters."  Very rarely does poor pelvic health or pelvic floor symptoms NOT impact our lives in a negative way.  Whether it's affecting your confidence, your relationship or your ability to engage in exercise or other meaningful activities, IT MATTERS. And I want to help you to make a difference.

How it started

I completed two elective Womens Health Physiotherapy placements at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women as a physiotherapy student and knew immediately that this is where I wanted to take my physiotherapy career.  Encouraged by mentors to experience other clinic areas, I spent my new graduate year working in oncology, haematology and  palliative care including 6 months in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Royal Perth Hospital. And though emotionally challenging, I fell in love with this area too.  For the next 8 years I worked in either women's health or oncology in public hospitals across WA, NT and QLD.

What next?

After 8 years in the public hospital system I had two children of my own and moved into private practice.  It's here that I can combine my passions for pelvic health and cancer into a caseload mixture of women's health, musculoskeletal and oncology.  More recently I have also branched out into paediatric bladder and bowel dysfunction as the need in this area continues to grow.
